We couldn’t do this work without the support of our fantastic team of volunteers.

Here are some of the many ways they contribute to our mission.

Volunteer Roles

Volunteer Mediator- Volunteer mediators facilitate constructive dialogue between disputing parties, helping them explore solutions and reach mutually acceptable agreements. Rule 17 Civil Mediation training required. (Time commitment: Varies; may include in-person and Zoom sessions.)

Volunteer Conflict Coach- Volunteer conflict coaches work one-on-one with individuals to help them develop skills and strategies for managing and resolving conflicts effectively. They provide guidance, active listening, and tailored support to empower clients in navigating challenging situations. Rule 17 Civil Mediation training and CRCSTL Conflict Coaching training required. (Time commitment: Varies; sessions take place over the phone)

Courtroom Support Volunteer- Courtroom Support Volunteers welcome landlords and tenants entering the mediation process at court, providing a friendly and supportive presence. They assist with pre-mediation forms, share basic information about the process, and guide participants to the mediation space. Rule 17 Civil Mediation training required. (Time commitment: Fridays 9:00am-12:00pm in person at downtown Civil Courts Building)

Post-Mediation Support Coach- The Post-Mediation Support Coach connects with participants after their mediation sessions to offer support and gather feedback. They conduct follow-up calls to check on participants' experiences, address concerns, and document insights to enhance mediation and coaching services. Rule 17 Civil Mediation training and CRCSTL Conflict Coaching training required. (Time commitment: 2 hours once a month, in person at the CRCSTL office with other volunteers.)

Special Skills- Enjoy writing about conflict resolution issues? Passionate about supporting a youth peer mediation program? Our volunteers support many CRCSTL programs in a variety of different ways and we are always looking for individuals with special skills looking to give back. (Time commitment: Varies)

CRCSTL is always looking for ways to better serve our community.
