About Conflict Resolution Center - St. Louis 
The Conflict Resolution Center – St. Louis (CRCSTL) works to provide professional dispute resolution services that are accessible to all. We aim to be a leader in promoting peaceful, lasting and effective solutions to conflict in St. Louis and the surrounding area, primarily through the facilitation and education of our mediation services. 

CRCSTL mediates conflicts between city employees and/or their supervisors, neighbors, civilians and the police, as well as other conflicts in St. Louis. We are committed to resolving disputes in the region, including cases with and without pending legal matters.

Position Summary
The Peer Mediation and Volunteer Program internship at CRCSTL offers a meaningful opportunity to gain hands-on experience in conflict resolution, peer mediation, and volunteer engagement. Interns will support day-to-day program activities and work on long-term projects based on organizational needs and the intern’s interests.

Key Responsibilities
Peer Mediation Program:

  • Assist in scheduling and facilitating peer mediation training sessions for middle and high school students, in collaboration with staff and volunteers.

  • Help develop and refine training materials for peer mediation and follow-up sessions.

  • Shadow and support site visits to schools participating in the peer mediation program.

  • Support outreach efforts to expand the peer mediation program in area schools.

Volunteer Program:

  • Write and distribute the biweekly volunteer newsletter.

  • Provide general support for volunteer engagement, including coordination and communication.

Other Duties May Include:

  • Research emerging topics in peer mediation and assist in drafting policies or training materials.

  • Contribute to outreach efforts, including creating social media content, brochures, and other promotional materials.

  • Support strategic planning initiatives, such as grant research and developing plans for program expansion.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Current enrollment in a Master's program (Social Work, Education, Public Policy) or Law School.

  • Experience working with youth and diverse populations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Interest in conflict resolution, mediation, or related fields.

Compensation
This is a stipend-based internship.
